
The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Media Unity announced this morning the selection of the Lebanese singer Magda Al-Roumi as an ambassador for young Arab artists for the year 2023, and the choice came based on the long artistic career.
It is noteworthy that Magda Al-Roumi’s first breakthrough was through Art Studio 74, which was presented by Lebanon TV. She sang the song “Ya Birds” by the late artist Asmahan, because this song highlights the layers of her voice. Al-Roumi has various and many humanitarian activities, in addition to other humanitarian initiatives launched by Al-Roumi in 2012 from By allocating the proceeds of her first release of the album “Ghazal” to fund the Fund for Needy Students at the American University of Beirut and a lot of hidden charitable and national contributions to support her country, Lebanon, in its crises.
Haitham Ali Youssef, Chairman of the Council of the Arab Media Unit, welcomed this choice, praising the long artistic career of Mrs. Magda Al-Roumi, who formed an artistic school for Arabic music, classical music and opera, and it is also known for the distinction of her voice known as “soprano”.
It is noteworthy that the Arab Media Unity Council, which was established in 2012 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, chooses in January of each year an ambassador for Arab artists, as this title was granted to Mrs. Fayrouz, the Arab artist Muhammad Abdo, the artist Saber Al-Rubai, the artist Ahlam Al-Shamsi, the artist Sana Musa, the artist Caesar Kazem Al-Saher and the artist Julia Boutros, the artist Assi Al-Hillani, and the artist Omar Al-Abdalat. The Council of Arab Media Unity has its annual award known as the “Al-Haytham Prize for Arab Media,” which is granted to Arab presidents and Arab media leaders.
