Al-Qabbaj and Abu-Ghazaleh announce the launch of the Arab Forum for Women’s Health

Nevine Qabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs at the League of Arab States, announced the launch of the Arab Forum for Women’s Health in its second session which will be held under the auspices of the League of Arab States and organized by the Egyptian Society for Cervical Cancer, in partnership with the Ministries of Social Solidarity and Health population, the Unified Procurement Authority and the National Council for Women under the title “Women between Obesity and Cancer”.

The Minister of Social Solidarity stressed during the press conference held at the League of Arab States to announce the details of the Arab Forum for Women’s Health which will be held on January 21 that women are the basis for building society, as they represent half of society and the mothers of the second half, and they have a pivotal role in building and advancing societies, and this role requires empowerment Her health to enhance her developmental role and in line with the presidential initiatives that care about women’s health, especially the early detection of breast cancer.

Al-Qabbaj added that the forum aims to shed light on the health problems resulting from obesity and how to overcome them, and the relationship of obesity to cancer diseases and how to protect against them noting that the President of the Republic directed to improve the quality of life of Egyptians especially the first-aided groups in the fields of health and education and to achieve parity. Opportunities to work and ensuring social protection for them, stressing the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s continued support for civil society organizations specialized in various development axes, especially health and education, to be a major partner in the implementation of all social programs implemented by the Ministry.

The Minister of Social Solidarity stated that civil society is an essential partner and the executive arm of the Ministry of Social Solidarity; and the Ministry is working with civil societies to address the roots and causes of any problem especially that the Ministry is working to develop a national framework with civil society organizations that includes all sectors of development, including social protection, health, education and protection. Women, children, economic empowerment, and support for the rights of persons with disabilities.
Al-Qabbaj explained that the Ministry of Social Solidarity is interested in supporting the most important national institutions, namely the family institution, especially since the prevention of women and the early detection of tumors provide the family with negative psychological, social and economic repercussions in the event of a mother suffering from cancer, noting that the Ministry of Social Solidarity implements an integrated program to improve Community awareness in all issues affecting the most vulnerable families, as the awareness component of the family is a major perspective for social protection, as poverty is not limited to material poverty, but rather has multiple dimensions and the provision of knowledge and information to those families and linking them to the package of health and educational services, according to the Egyptian constitution is Which guarantees the poorest families out of poverty and enhances their chances of obtaining their social and economic rights.

The Minister of Social Solidarity confirmed that the Ministry of Social Solidarity is implementing the “Mawada” program to educate those about to get married, as well as the “Awareness” program to take care of women’s reproductive health through “2 Enough” clinics, and there is cooperation with 400 NGOs in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population, noting that the Ministry She has social pioneers who work to correct misconceptions and raise awareness among citizens.

As their numbers have been increased from 2,500 social pioneers, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, to 15,000 female pioneers now, then 19,000 female pioneers. For the first time, we will have 1,000 male pioneers to raise awareness among citizens.
