Emigration min., EU amb. discuss youth employment center to address European labor market needs

Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi had a meeting with Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt, Ambassador Christian Berger, and Head of Governance Section of the EU Delegation to Egypt Ms Graziella Rizza, to discuss establishing a youth employment center that represents a point of communication between the European Union (EU)and the Egyptian state to facilitate transferring of skilled workers and expertise in various fields between Egypt and the EU.

The Minister of State for Emigration said that the center provides all the services and training that young people need, away from restrictions, bureaucratic complications, and visa problems.

Soha Gendi emphasized that the ministry aims to set up a working mechanism by establishing headquarters for the center and a website that organizes employment and its transfer, so that everyone can benefit from these ways and achieve the desired fruits of cooperation.

For his part, the Ambassador of the European Union to Egypt, Christian Berger, explained the importance of cooperation between Egypt and the Union in the field of migration, announcing that cooperation will be further strengthened during the year 2023 on migration issues through the participation of experts and specialists from both sides.

A positive immigration program with a budget of up to Euros 60 million will be implemented to deal with the main causes that lead to migration from Egypt, Berger added.
