Uzbekistan: Meetings with representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR and CIS election observation missions take place

On September 25 this year, the Central Election Commission organized meetings with missions to observe the elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Councils of People’s Deputies from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission Z. Nizamkhodjayev met with the head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission Douglas Wake. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of the EOM Dimitra Ioannou, election analyst Chris Taylor, and others.
The Central Election Commission also hosted a meeting with Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States D. Trefilov and the head of the headquarters of the CIS Executive Committee Mission Y. Kozyak.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Z. Nizamkhodjayev, focused on implementing recommendations from reports and conclusions of international missions to observe elections held in Uzbekistan into national legislation and practice and improving the country’s legal framework.
