President El-Sisi Meets Vice President of Republic of Equatorial Guinea

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, and the ministerial delegation accompanying him, which included the ministers of foreign affairs, security, health, and agriculture, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the vice president of Equatorial Guinea delivered a letter to the President from the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, which expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt and the President and extended an invitation for President El-Sisi to visit Equatorial Guinea. President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation and welcomed visiting Equatorial Guinea on a date, to be agreed upon through diplomatic channels. The President affirmed Egypt’s keenness to support the efforts of the Equatorial Guinea government to achieve development, and to continue strengthening the strong relations between the two countries.

The vice president of Equatorial Guinea reviewed his activities during his visit to Egypt, which included meeting with the prime minister and a number of ministers to discuss ways to advance economic cooperation and enhance trade between the two countries. This is while lauding the remarkable development progress he saw in Egypt, in a way that represents a real and tangible addition to the capabilities of the African continent.

President El-Sisi confirmed Egypt’s full commitment to further deepening all frameworks of cooperation with African countries, noting the promising opportunities to enhance joint investments between the private sectors in the two countries, allowing Egyptian companies to work in Equatorial Guinea’s priority areas, mainly infrastructure, the construction of cities and urban complexes, energy, transportation, health and pharmaceuticals.

The vice president of Equatorial Guinea looked forward to transferring the distinguished and internationally acclaimed Egyptian experience in eliminating Hepatitis C.
The meeting also reviewed the continental and regional situation. President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for Equatorial Guinea’s positions in support of the Palestinian issue, reviewing the Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Views were also exchanged on the situation in Africa, and efforts to strengthen continental peace and security, in a way that supports the path of overall development in continent.
