President El-Sisi Meets the Prime Minister and the Minister the Education

Yesterday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister, Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Reda Hegazy, and Director of the Egyptian Military Academy, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmad Fahmy, said the meeting followed-up on efforts to improve the education system in Egypt across its various main aspects, primarily with regard to the teaching staff. The President was briefed on efforts to develop the cadres of teachers, improve their selection and provide the appropriate number of teachers to be consistent with the number of students. This is, in addition to providing them with training, enhancing their instruction skills, and qualifying school principals, in line with the highest technical and personal requirements that shall characterize those assuming this huge responsibility.

The President gave directives to continue to focus on developing the human cadres and the teachers’ system. This comes within the framework of the state’s strategic orientation toward addressing all components of the education system, particularly the human element, and giving it due interest as it is the foundation for character-building and human capital formation. This requires a high-level system for the selection and qualification, based on the criteria of objectivity and impartiality, competence, distinction, seriousness and scientific, personal and psychological excellence, in a way that also strengthens efforts to reform the state’s administrative apparatus and contributes to developing the level of public services delivered to the citizens.
