An Archaeological Park has been opened in Bukhara to develop domestic and inbound tourism further.
The event was attended by specialists in tourism, cultural heritage and museology, archaeological scientists, foreign tourists, public representatives, residents, and media workers.
At the park’s opening ceremony, it was noted that after 103 years, this site, closed to visitors to the ancient city, has finally opened its doors to everyone.
It is noteworthy that within the framework of this project, supported by UNESCO and implemented in collaboration with scientists from the famous French Louvre Museum, a 120-meter section of the wall on the back side of the Ark fortress was covered with baked bricks, the corridors and covered barn were restored, and several additional amenities for tourists were created.
One of the famous architects of the country, a direct participant in the project Elizaveta Nekrasova, Rector of Bukhara State University Obidjon Khamidov, professor of this university, doctor of historical sciences Halim Turayev, specialist in cultural heritage Tuygun Boboyev congratulated those present on the opening of the Archaeological Park.
In the Ark fortress, theatrical performances prepared by actors of the regional musical and drama theater and performances by artists from regional branches of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan and the State Institution “Uzbekconcert” were demonstrated, which gave the audience a festive mood.
The partially preserved mausoleum of Abdulgazi Khan, a prayer house, a bathhouse, and other buildings in the park will undoubtedly make a significant impression on those who visit this ancient monument.
