President El-Sisi Inaugurates Al-Sayyida Nafisa Mosque after Renovation
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Inaugurated, on Tuesday August 8, 2023, Al-Sayyida Nafisa Mosque after its renovation.
President El-Sisi toured the mosque to stand on the development work there.
He also prayed at the mosque that has Al-Sayyida Nafisa’s mausoleum inside. Along with the necropolis around it, it is listed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Historic Cairo.
President El-Sisi and Sultan of the Indian Bohra community Mufaddal Saifuddin inspected the development work at Al-Sayyida Nafisa Mosque.
They were accompanied by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Awqaf Minister Mohamad Mokhtar Gomaa, and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel-Aal.
President El-Sisi listened to the recitation of some verses of the Holy Quran.
Following their tour of the renovated mosque, Sultan of the Indian Bohra community Mufaddal Saifuddin gave a word, in which he thanked President Sisi for bestowing the Nile Sash on him in recognition of his continued efforts in Egypt at the cultural, charitable and social levels.
The Bohra sultan expressed his appreciation for efforts exerted by the different bodies of the Egyptian State, the Awqaf Ministry and the Armed Forces to develop Ahl El-Bayt mosques.
President El-Sisi thanked the Bohra community for its contribution to renovating Ahl El-Bayt shrines, stressing that the Egyptian State adopted a plan to develop Historic Cairo.
President El-Sisi also welcomed Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin, lauding his significant contribution to developing Ahl El-Bayt shrines.
He further noted that the State has adopted a plan to revamp Historic Cairo.
He added: “Work is underway to start the renovation of Al Sayeda Zainab mosque, within the context of State’s plan to revamp Historic Cairo.”
President El-Sisi noted that a development project is being carried out in Arab el Yassar neighborhood, pointing out that similar development activities were undertaken in Sour Magra el Oyoun district.
President El-Sisi also welcomed visiting leader of the Indian Bohra community, his family and accompanying delegation.
It’s worth mentioning that the Bohra sect living in Egypt enjoys peaceful atmosphere and tranquil vibes and respect and appreciation shown by the Egyptian people, the president said on the sidelines of opening Al Sayyida Nafisa Mosque after its renovation.
