President El-Sisi Meets KSA Crown Prince

Today in Riyadh, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said during the meeting the two sides underscored the brotherly historical relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. President El-Sisi and HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman confirmed mutual commitment to further strengthening relations across all levels, given the firm and solid bonds the two leaderships and peoples share.

The meeting tackled efforts to end the military escalation in the Gaza Strip. The two leaders expressed enormous concern regarding the successive and grave deterioration of events, while stressing the importance of focusing all regional and international efforts for the time being on ending the escalation and violence in order to protect civilians and to prevent the loss of more lives and the situation from spiraling out of control. They categorically rejected the idea of ​​displacing Palestinians, which would completely liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The two leaders agreed on the crucial need to hold intensive consultations and close coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the coming period to confirm the Arab-Islamic vision on the Palestinian issue, particularly in light of the outcomes emanating from the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit. Those revolve around achieving a comprehensive and just settlement for the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, in accordance with the terms of reference of international legitimacy.
