Egypt is open to boosting south-south cooperation in order to support developing countries and emerging economies.

The Ministry of International Co-operation has worked with such organisations as the UN Development Programme and the World Food Programme for south-south co-operation and to apply Egyptian expertise to development elsewhere.

These statements by Minister of International Cooperation Rania el-Mashaat came during her meeting with a delegation from Argentina led by Minister of Health Carla Vizzotti for co-operation talks.

Egypt joined the newly-established Development Bank of the BRICS bloc to explore further economic cooperation and promote development.

The Argentinian delegation expressed keenness for co-operation between the private sectors of both countries to support investment, noting progress in the oil, gas and energy domains in Argentina.

Argentinian Ambassador in Cairo Eduardo Antonio Varela, who was also at the meeting, said the coming stage will witness more visits to Egypt by Argentinian economic, political and trade delegations to business people and investors to look into co-operation between the private sectors of the two countries.
