Egypt’s FM commends economic cooperation with Canada
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry commended economic cooperation between Egypt and Canada. Shoukry’s remarks came during his meeting on Thursday 2/3/2023 with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers meeting hosted by the Indian capital, New Delhi, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid.
The Egyptian foreign minister praised the existing coordination with his Canadian counterpart on different international issues of mutual concern.
Shoukry also valued Canada’s regular participation in the Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai, as well as the growing cooperation between the two countries in the academic field.
The pair exchanged views on major regional and international issues, including the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its repercussion on the developing countries, in addition to the Middle East peace process.
On her part, the Canadian foreign minister lauded Egypt’s stance on the Libyan crisis, congratulating Shoukry on the successful organization of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference, COP27, which managed o establish a Loss and Damage Fund to help nations impacted by climate change.
