The Minister of Immigration praises the efforts of the Egyptian community in supporting the Jordanian economy

Ambassador Suha Gendy, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, held a virtual meeting with the Egyptian community in Jordan, as part of the “An Hour with the Minister” initiative, expressing her congratulations to all Egyptians abroad on the occasion of the New Year and holidays.

The meeting came with the participation of Ambassador Mohamed Samir, Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan, Ambassador Ahmed Ismail, Consul General of Egypt in Aqaba, Ambassador Amr Abbas, Assistant Minister of Immigration for Communities, and representatives of a number of representatives of Egyptian state ministries and institutions. The Minister of Immigration reviewed the package of incentives that were provided to Egyptians abroad, in cooperation between the ministries and institutions of the Egyptian state, since her sovereignty assumed the portfolio of the Ministry of Immigration in a number of areas, including discounts on airline tickets, And preparing to launch a joint-stock company and a fund for Egyptians abroad, as well as investment opportunities and providing land and distinguished units for Egyptians abroad, stressing that the Egyptian citizen, anywhere around the world, comes at the forefront of the political leadership’s concerns in the new republic, and we are all keen to link it to the development processes that take place in all parts of the country.

The Minister of Immigration addressed the most prominent results of her visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, explaining that she also places Jordan within a plan to meet Egyptian communities abroad, in light of the implementation of the Ministry’s strategy to communicate with Egyptians abroad. Ambassador Suha Gendy appreciated the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egyptian consulates abroad, and embassies in supporting the ministry’s efforts to link Egyptians abroad with the homeland, within the framework of achieving sustainable development plans in the new republic.

The Minister of Immigration affirmed that we are keen on all Egyptians abroad, noting that they are partners in construction and development, and their efforts are honorable in a number of governorates that export illegal immigration, praising the keenness of Egyptians abroad to contribute to the development of a large number of rural areas in the most favored areas.

And the Minister of Immigration continued: “We are keen for our children abroad to obtain their rights and the various benefits granted to our children at home, in addition to being keen to listen to their proposals and discuss ways to implement them.” Ambassador Suha Gendy indicated that she has been keen, since the third edition of the “Egyptian Communities and Entities Abroad” conference, to implement all the recommendations proposed by our children abroad at the conference, in the presence of representatives of a number of ministries and state institutions, including insurance services and pensions for Egyptians abroad, and ways to benefit from the amendments the law, Which provides distinct opportunities for Egyptians abroad, as well as the insurance policy for Egyptians abroad, in which the subscription value is only about 100 pounds, and guarantees immediate intervention to support the Egyptian abroad in critical times, in the event of injuries or the transfer of corpses, Ambassador Suha Gendi discussed the coordination efforts with the Ministry of Interior regarding identification numbers, and what the Ministry announced to provide committees if 500 applications were available to cover the expenses of the mission.

Besides what is related to the conscription situation, as well as those wishing to benefit from insurance and pension services, opening bank accounts and making branches of national banks abroad available, as well as unprecedented discounts on airline tickets, which amount to about 25% for the wife, and 33% for two children, over a period of 216 days, As well as opening the age for children up to 15 years, and reducing tickets for two children. Ambassador Suha Gendi referred to the facilities for bringing in a car from abroad, and the reduction of paid taxes and customs by about 30%, which ends next March, noting that it is an opportunity that may not be compensated for the Egyptian who will benefit.

For the first time, it was possible to bring a car to Egypt without any customs or taxes, as coordination was made with the competent authorities to agree to bring the Egyptian abroad for a car by making a deposit in dollars that will be refunded after 5 years, equivalent to its value in Egyptian pounds at the time of exchange, which is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of this offer, and provide Buying from free zones in Egypt
Ambassador Soha Gendy dealt with coordination efforts with the Egyptian Stock Exchange, to provide an opportunity for Egyptians abroad to participate, as well as ways to benefit from the insurance policy for Egyptians abroad, and to implement the proposals of Egyptians abroad to allocate Examinations for two semesters for our children studying abroad, instead of one semester, as well as coordination with the Ministry of “Higher Education” to provide an exceptional opportunity for a year to reconcile conditions for professors who have exceeded the permissible limit of secondment or leave years, as well as introducing Egyptians abroad to the investment opportunities available in Egypt, And publishing the industrial investment map, which introduces Egyptians abroad to the available fields of investment and their geographical distribution. The Minister of Immigration affirmed keenness to employ all the proposals of Egyptians abroad and to facilitate all means to maximize the investments of Egyptians abroad in the homeland, in addition to Familiarizing Egyptians abroad with the various investment opportunities in Egypt, with the amendments that have been implemented to the Investment Law to make it more flexible to serve investments. Ambassador Suha Gendi indicated that the Central Bank issued high-yield certificates in Egyptian pounds and various foreign currencies, for all citizens with values ​​that are the highest, at rates of up to 25% for the Egyptian pound, and about 6% for foreign currencies, explaining that banks did not close their doors even on holidays, to accommodate the large demand. of the citizens on these features. Regarding the opening of branches of national banks abroad around the world, the Minister of Immigration explained that she had met with Mr. Muhammad al-Etrebi, President of the Federation of Banks and President of Banque Misr, who explained that there are controls in a number of countries that impede the opening of branches of foreign banks, which prevents the provision of this service to Egyptians abroad, noting that there are branches in the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and others, for example. And the Minister of Immigration added that there is an agreement to provide various services to Egyptians abroad who are clients of any national bank, whether the National Bank, Banque Misr and Banque du Caire, so that a customer of any national bank benefits from any branch of any of them abroad, even if it is not the same branch that the citizen deals with. . The Minister of Immigration referred to coordination to overcome all obstacles facing Egyptians abroad Upon opening a bank account abroad, and providing about 150 services to citizens abroad, work is under way to provide an electronic signature, which will allow opening accounts for citizens abroad.
For their part, the children of Egyptians in Jordan explained that the Egyptian and Jordanian people are one fabric, and we deal with each other with love and brotherhood. The Minister of Immigration praised the efforts of the Egyptians in supporting the Jordanian economy, expressing her congratulations to a number of companies that are based on expansions to provide job opportunities for Egyptian and Jordanian youth.

In response to what some members of the community put forward, the Minister of Immigration noted the importance of coordinating students abroad with the Scholarships Department, with regard to recruitment services, for the various batches, and completing the required procedures through the Scholarships Department website.
