President El-Sisi Receives Speaker of the House of Representatives of Iraq
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Speaker of the House of Representatives of Iraq Mr. Mohamed Halbousi, in the presence of Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Dr. Hanafi Gebaly, and Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Cairo Ahmed Al-Dulaimi.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi welcomed the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Iraq, asking him to convey his greetings to Iraq’s President Abdul Latif Rashid and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani. His Excellency stressed the distinguished Egyptian-Iraqi relations and Egypt’s keenness to further promote cooperation between the two countries in all fields and at the official and popular levels, especially in light of the current momentum of the joint relations and the mutual visits of senior officials between the two countries whether at the bilateral level or through the tripartite cooperation mechanism with the Kingdom of Jordan.
Mr. Halbousi conveyed to President El-Sisi the greetings of Iraq’s President and Prime Minister, stressing his country’s pride in the close bilateral relations between Iraq and Egypt. He also praised Egypt’s role in restoring stability in Iraq and contributions to consolidate security, stability and development in the region and strengthen Arab unity. In this regard, he expressed his aspiration to continue developing cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially at the parliamentary level, and to benefit from the Egyptian expertise with regard to development and the establishment of state institutions.
The meeting discussed regional developments and ways to strengthen relations between the two countries in all fields, especially at the parliamentary level.
