OIC Secretary-General Receives King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language’s Secretary-General

Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr Hissein Brahim Taha on 2 February 2023 received H.E. Dr Abdullah Al Washmi, Secretary-General of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, his entourage, and H.E. Dr Saleh Bin Hamad Al Suheiban, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the OIC. This was on the sidelines of the celebration of the World Arabic Day for the Muslim Ummah organized by the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in collaboration with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language at the OIC General Secretariat.
Both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the OIC and the Academy, including joint action with various partners to promote and support the presence of the Arabic Language at all international fora. They also discussed ways to work together to strengthen the identity and solidarity of the Islamic ummah. Arabic is the language of the Qur’an and an important component of the Arabo-Islamic culture. Both sides agreed to carry on efforts to develop a vision for creating programs and activities that would contribute to achieving their common objectives.
