In the presence of the Minister of Youth.. Today, the 30th edition of the Egyptian International Marathon begins in Luxor

Today, Friday, Luxor Governorate is witnessing the launch of the activities of the 30th session of the Egyptian International Marathon, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and the leaders of Luxor Governorate. It is the oldest in Africa and more than 300 contestants compete annually.

The activities of the 30th session of the Egyptian International Marathon will be held in Luxor Governorate, headed by Major General Jasser Riad, President of the Pharaonic Egypt International Marathon, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Egyptian Athletics Federation, in cooperation with Luxor Governorate, and under the supervision of the Tourism Promotion Authority.

For his part, Mohamed Abdel Qader Khairy, Deputy Governor of Luxor, says that the governorate is fully prepared to receive the Egyptian International Marathon, and the marathon is included in the country’s tourism agenda to diversify the Egyptian tourism product and contribute to the revitalization of the sports tourism movement. Exactly 7 am in front of the Temple of Hatshepsut on the western mainland in Luxor, with the participation of more than 20 European and Arab countries from various countries of the world, including Egypt, Switzerland, Jordan, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, France, China, Ireland, Jordan, Brazil, Spain, Canada, and America. Japan, Australia, Poland, the Netherlands and Germany.

It is worth noting that the race route starts from the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari, heading right, passing Medinet Habu, then the Colossi of Memnon, then heading north through the Valley of the Kings on the western mainland, then turning again north, passing the Temple of Seti I, then returning again to the Temple of Hatshepsut at the end of the race. .
