For the second time… Mona Ragab was elected president of the Egyptian Women Writers Association

The elections for the board of directors of the Egyptian Women Writers Association in the new session resulted in the writer and writer Mona Ragab winning unanimously the position of chairperson of the Board of Directors of Egyptian Women Writers for a second session in the elections for a new board of directors for the association, which took place yesterday evening, Tuesday, January 3, 2023, after reconciling the conditions of the association.
The elections took place in an atmosphere of friendliness and optimism with the beginning of a new year at the headquarters of the Writers’ Union to choose the board of directors of the association. The writer and poet Amal Shehata won as vice president of the association, and the journalist writer Fatima Shaarawi, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram newspaper, won the position of general secretary of the association. Journalist and critic Anas Al-Wujoud Radwan, editor-in-chief of Al-Wafd newspaper, won the position of treasurer, and the writer Dr. Samia Khader Saleh, professor of sociology at Ain Shams University, writer and poet Iman Youssef, writer and broadcaster Dr. Atiyat Abu Al-Enein, and writer and poet Dr. Nouran Fouad and writer and storyteller Shorouk Kamal.
The writer, Mona Ragab, stated that she is proud of her unanimous election as a member of the Egyptian Women Writers Association, which she considers a beacon of creativity and enlightenment in our homeland, and that she will work on more success for the ancient association, which is the oldest association for women writers in the world, as it was founded in 1973 by the professor, the leading journalist writer Amina Al-Saeed and a group From the generation of Egyptian pioneers.
She stressed that the association includes a group of the best Egyptian women writers in various branches of literature written by women and from different generations, which will enable it in the coming period to double its activities and activities in order to contribute to the movement of culture, creativity and progress in society. And that it includes a number of distinguished women writers from the Arab countries and will work to join more Arab women writers and build a bridge of communication with the women’s creativity movement in the Arab countries. The Women Writers Association will launch its activities and activities to some of the governorates of our dear country
The writer, Mona Ragab, confirmed that she will continue to make her continuous efforts to launch the association to new horizons and to cooperate with various high-end women’s institutions.
The association will also announce within days the largest literary competition in various branches of literature to discover young talents in Egypt and encourage them to write in various branches of literature and creativity to continue the association’s march in enriching the movement of culture, literature and progress in our country and addressing outdated ideas that put obstacles and obstacles in front of women writers.
