FM asserts depth of ties between Egypt, Mauritania

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted the depth of ties between Egypt and Mauritania.

This came during his meeting on Friday with Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk ahead of the 36th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly due to be held on Saturday and Sunday in Addis Ababa.

In statements, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zaid said that the meeting stressed the importance of boosting ties between the two countries.

For his part, the Mauritanian minister stressed the importance of the convocation of the joint committee between the two countries within the framework of promoting bilateral cooperation.

He also invited Shoukry to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), set for Nouakchott in March.

The two ministers also discussed the priorities of the two countries within the framework of the African Union and means to boost joint action at the continental level.
