House Speaker says amendments to investment law of special importance

Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy Gebaly said on Sunday 9/7/2023 that a bill submitted by the government to amend the investment law is of special importance and nature.

It directly affects the economic sector in Egypt, as well as investors and entrepreneurs abroad, Gebaly said during a session to discuss the bill.
Some texts included in the draft law came in response to recommendations by the Supreme Investment Council, which convened its first meeting under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in May this year, the speaker said.
He added that this is a great step that would contribute to removing many obstacles facing investment in Egypt.
The proposed amendments affirm Egypt’s serious efforts to apply the economic reform programs and secure an investment-friendly climate in Egypt, Gebaly noted.
