Speech by President El-Sisi during Banquet Hosted by India’s President

The President’s Speeches
Your Excellency President Droupadi Murmu of the Republic of India,
I gratefully thank your Excellency for the warm welcome and hospitality I received during my visit to your fraternal country, which I and all Egyptians hold in high regard as we share together a civilizational heritage that is rooted in history.
Egypt and India are among the oldest, most ancient and most authentic civilizations. They had a prominent role and an undeniable influence on the advancement of human civilization in the various fields of science, arts, and literature.
The commonalities, mutual interests, and close cultural ties between Egypt and India make the two fraternal countries an important bridge of convergence, dialogue, and cooperation and put on our shoulders a joint responsibility to spread the principles and values of justice, peace, equality, tolerance, non-violence, and mutual respect among peoples.
Your Excellency,
My visit to your dear country has come at a time when our bilateral relations are witnessing a significant breakthrough in all aspects of cooperation. It also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and India, thereby confirming their special relations that aim to achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries.
Also, that visit represented an important opportunity for continuing consultations and exchanging visions, with your Excellency and the Prime Minister, on means to improve cooperation between our two countries at all levels and to coordinate positions on regional and global issues that have a direct impact on our national security.
Perhaps the convergence of views that prevailed in our talks reflects our firm conviction of the need to continue solidarity to achieve our common goals in various fields. This is based on the historical ties, the enormous potential Egypt and India have, as well as the determination of the two countries to improve their bilateral relations to reach the stage of strategic cooperation and mutual coordination on various issues and matters of mutual interest.
Our meeting today is becoming increasingly important due to the international polarization that has severe negative consequences on all peoples. This makes it imperative for our developing countries to come together to face common challenges and emerging international crises, including energy and food crises.
In this regard, we agreed during the talks to intensify joint coordination and cooperation on political and security issues and to maximize mutual interests in the infrastructure sectors, economic fields, and various industries.
We also agreed to expand the frameworks of communication between the Egyptian and Indian peoples by promoting cooperation in the tourism sector, increasing opportunities for cultural and scientific exchange, encouraging the transfer of educational expertise, and developing technical skills among young people. In addition, airlines should be encouraged in our two countries to operate direct flights between various Egyptian and Indian cities in a way that contributes to facilitating the movement of citizens between both countries.
In conclusion, I am pleased to extend my sincere congratulations to your Excellency and the government and people of the fraternal Republic of India on the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations, wishing you all the goodness, security, peace and development.
I would also like to invite your Excellency to visit Egypt in the near future to continue our efforts on promoting aspects of cooperation and coordination between our two countries, wishing you every success and the fraternal people of India further progress and prosperity.
