The Indian President Welcomes President El-Sisi

Yesterday, President of the Republic of India, Ms. Droupadi Murmu, welcomed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the “Rashtrapati Bhavan” Republican Palace in New Delhi.
The Spokesman for the Presidency said the Indian President welcomed President El-Sisi, expressing India’s appreciation for Egypt, at both the official and popular levels. She confirmed that India values the extended bonds the two countries share, and commended Egypt’s successful development experience under the leadership of President El-Sisi in all areas and in the mega national projects which are currently being implemented. The Indian President underscored her country’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s efforts toward development and in all areas through the exchange of expertise and joint investment.
President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received in India. The President lauded the solid historical relations between Egypt and India, and the advanced level they have reached across various levels over the past period. President El-Sisi confirmed that Egypt looks forward to further strengthening bilateral relations, particularly at the economic and trade levels, and to boosting the size and scope of India’s investments in Egypt.
The President emphasized that currently the Egyptian market offers huge opportunities to Indian investments, which can benefit from Egypt’s modern infrastructure and access African markets, capitalizing on the free trade agreements Egypt shares with various regional economic blocs. The President asserted that, at the popular level, Egypt welcomes cooperation with India as well as an increase of Indian investments and commercial activities.
The talks also focused on a number of regional and international issues of common interest. The discussions reflected a mutual understanding with regard to the approach to address all dossiers. The President of the Indian Republic commended Egypt’s pivotal role in reinforcing stability in the Middle East and Africa, and in supporting peaceful solutions to the ongoing crises in its regional surroundings.
