Communications Minister witnesses Signing Commercial Agreement between Telecom Egypt and EXA Infrastructure

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the signing of a commercial agreement between Telecom Egypt, the first integrated telecommunications operator in Egypt and one of the largest submarine cable operators in the region, and EXA Infrastructure, the European leader in the field of fiber infrastructure and submarine cables across the Atlantic Ocean.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Muhammad Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, and Nick Reed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EXA.

Under this agreement, EXA Infrastructure will use the “WeConnect” system. Which was launched by Telecom Egypt last September, which supports the flexibility of connectivity on the extended submarine cable infrastructure in Egypt, and allows users to move quickly and efficiently between submarine cable systems in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, adopting a neutral model. The commercial agreement also enhances Telecom Egypt’s ability to provide integrated solutions to international customers from Asia directly to Internet traffic centers in Europe
